SPS IPC Drives si conferma l’appuntamento leader in Europa e come piattaforma di riferimento per l’innovazione e l'automazione industriale

L'intervista a Sylke Schulz-Metzner, Head of Division/ Vice President SPS IPC Drives.

What is the expectation for SPS IPC Drives 2017?

We are expecting around 1,700 exhibitors from 46 countries, from market leaders to start-up companies for the SPS IPC Drives 2017. Among those will be 96 companies from Italy. The exhibitors cover all aspects of industrial automation, from simple sensors to intelligent digital solutions. This year’s edition will be the largest SPS IPC Drives ever. Attendees from all across the globe benefit from the tremendous amount of information on offer and direct access to the latest automation products.

Which are the differences between 2017 edition and the last fair?

SPS IPC Drives is expanding its exhibition offering this year by opening a new hall. From 28–30 November 2017, trade visitors can discover the latest products and solutions from the field of electric automation for the first time in 16 halls. The level of growth has led to topics of focus being reorganized in certain halls. Hall 6 will focus entirely on the theme of Software & IT in manufacturing. Due to the digital industry's strong response to the software offering, the theme of Mechanical Infrastructure, previously represented in Hall 6, will be located together with industrial communication providers in Hall 2 and in the newly added Hall 10.1.

The broad fringe program also provides new and more opportunities for visitors to inform about trending topics: for the first time there will be four exhibitions forums with panel discussions and product presentations, the VDMA Vision Expert Huddles in hall 3A and Guided Tours on cutting-edge topics.

For the first time SPS IPC Drives offers Guided Tours. What are the main themes? How did the idea come out and why do you think is it important to participate?

With the Guided Tours we offer individually arranged tours, which will take the participants to selected and relevant exhibitors in a compact and themed manner. Visitors will be able to take Guided Tours on the themes IT-Security in automation, Smart production and Smart connectivity. This will give the specialists among them the chance to learn more about  secure communication solutions and products they can already use to achieve intelligent manufacturing operations today.

More and more visitors expect to get a quick and effective overview on future trends of the industry. The SPS IPC Drives Guided Tours respond to this demand by addressing three of the main industry 4.0 trends. Thus, the Guided Tours give visitors the chance to deepen their knowledge on the future of industry 4.0 in only 2 hours. The tours are nearly sold out already which shows that we offered the right tool for our customers.
